Connect with a support group

A support group provides a positive and caring environment for you to get help in dealing with the day-to-day stress of managing food allergy and risk of anaphylaxis.

Plus, it’s a great way to keep updated on any new developments in the food allergy community and exchange tips for navigating throughout the year.

Find a support group near you and connect now! If there isn’t one in your community, we’ll help you get one started.

Encore series: What is FPIES and how do you manage it?

In this series, we feature past online events and webinars.

This month, we’re sharing a past webinar on Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome or FPIES, a type of non-IgE-mediated food allergy that typically affects young children. It is sometimes described as a delayed food allergy as reactions usually occur within hours after eating or drinking a particular food.

In this session, you’ll hear from Dr. Anna Nowak-Wegrzyn on the basics of FPIES, including diagnosis, common food triggers, symptoms, dietary management and treatment. You’ll also gain a better understanding of this condition, and how to manage it on a daily basis.

You can watch all our webinars and videos from 2023 at foodallergycanada.ca/recordedwebinars and be sure to check our events calendar for this year’s webinars and events!
